I'm a software engineer that has worn many hats over the years.  These days I'm most interested in thinking about programming languages and developer tools — in particular, how we can design those things to reduce toil and increase the fun and passion in our work.  I have an academic background, and like to find ways to bring cutting-edge academic research into mainstream programming.
